Ashfaq Syed and his family are living the American Dream right here in Naperville.

That’s why he works every day to give back to our community.

Ashfaq is a long time active resident of Naperville that is passionate about making a difference in the city he is proud to call home. He has spent many years doing his part in helping to make Naperville the great city that it is today. His commitment to making a positive impact is reflected in his involvement with multiple community organizations and boards.

Ashfaq currently serves as President of the Naperville Public Library Board of Trustees. He is also a member of the Board of Directors with Loaves & Fishes Community Services, Naperville Neighbors United, the Civic Engagement Leader for ICN and a member of the Indian Prairie School District 204 Citizens Task Force. He previously served as a Committee Member of 360 Youth Services, an organization committed to helping young people and their families in Naperville. 

With a successful career in finance and banking, Ashfaq has used his skills to bring every dollar possible to Naperville. He served as Co-Chair of our 2020 Complete Count Committee which brought millions of dollars to our community after a best-in-the-nation census self-reporting rate. These efforts help to ensure Naperville receives its fair share of state and federal funding helping to alleviate the local tax burden on our residents. Ashfaq was recognized for this outstanding achievement with a proclamation by former Mayor Steve Chirico and the Naperville City Council. 

Ashfaq is also a graduate of the Naperville Citizen Police Academy and Fire Academy – learning in detail what our first responders go through so that he can help provide them with the tools and support they need.
